RAYNET is an Emergency Communications Service provided by volunteers across the UK.
When established RAYNET can put together a communications system that meets the requirements of “User Services” such as the “blue light” services and other voluntary emergency services such as St. John’s Ambulance and the British Red Cross Society.
Most of our members are Licenced Radio Amateurs and with over over 2000 of them available for call out at short notice, we are can create flexible and reliable radio communications completely independent of existing infrastructure along with trained operators.
We are also busy throughout the year providing safety communications at sporting and charity events, firework displays, major shows, local marathons, cycle races and other community events.
We also maintain a strong working relationships with District and County Council Emergency planning teams. RAYNET is regarded as a professional support organisation by both the traditional emergency services and other voluntary groups.
